To all of you out there who are focused on your job performance and making money, let me let you in on a little secret. THERE IS ALWAYS SOME KIND OF DRAMA IN THE WORKPLACE! Yes, no matter how hard you try you will find it somewhere. Whether it is a co-worker who doesn't like another co-worker, or a friend who is having relationship problems, you will experience drama at some point in your life.
The key to getting away from DRAMA is to not participate. By not participating you are expressing your views without actually saying anything. When a co-worker starts to voice opinions, just try to change the subject subtle. When a friend begins to chatter about her relationship and it goes way beyond what you believe should be a normal healthy relationship, just take a deep breath and say "I don't know what to tell you". If you act interested it just pours more fuel on the fire. Stay calm, don't be rude, but make sure you make your point without actually literally making it.
Drama in any form or fashion is just not healthy. Number one, it can cause hard feelings between people that can never be mended. Number two, it let's you stereotype people that you may not even know. Number three, drama tends to tear relationships and family's apart. Number four, gossipping and spreading rumors that you did not actually hear straight from the horses mouth or see it with your own eyes can lead to very devastating after affects to perhaps very good and upstanding people. Number five, drama can and will raise your blood pressure and/or speed up your heartrate by double. And lastly, if you criticize others, you are criticizing God in a certain way. People in general do make mistakes, but in reality, God gave everyone a brain to use. We should all choose to use it wisely.
Many people do not agree with my views and that is quite okay with me, but I do voice my opinions. You may either take it for what it is worth or leave it. I am expressing how I feel about situations and I give you that same opportunity. Just remember to be honest and do not try to throw your opinions on to someone else to believe. An opinion is exactly what it says it is. It is YOUR opinion and not someone elses. How I feel about something may not be exactly how you feel about the same thing. It is just an opinion. Who is to say what is right and what is wrong except God.
I do hope you will keep reading my blog and please post things for discussion. We can all learn from each other.
Suzanne
